As per the Process Mining Manifesto, there are still real theoretical and practical challenges that process mining techniques need to be able to address, including how we can facilitate comparison of processes across different organisations, how we can extract, clean, and handle large event logs with diverse characteristics, and how we can improve the usability of process mining to users from outside the academic domain,
